Righetti lockdown

When Righetti goes Insane

On Wednesday, the week before Thanksgiving break, righetti went through a dramatic experience.  After several bad student fights that eventually got police officers involved the school was put on lockdown. This was ridiculous and just a bad situation all around. Not only were the students confused but it seems the teachers were too. I personally dont think putting the school under lockdown was a good idea. I believe the lockdown got people more excited than if the school would have just ended lunch. Also after the original lockdown was declared a second announcement came on saying it was an non-emergency lockdown and telling student to report to there sixth.  This resulted in students getting yelled at for no reason by other officers and teachers for no reason, I happened to be one of those students.  Overall I think the situation could have been settled better and that righetti needs to step it up cause this just makes us look bad.

Literature Analysis Fahrenheit 451

                                  Literature Analysis

1.    Fahrenheit 451  is a book we have been reading in class and i expect it to to be a difficult read and possibly an educational book. I also expect to be learning atot of new vocabulary words.
2.    Id say what kept me reading past the first ten pages would be how it is somewhat interesting in how there society relates to ours and how the author predicted some of the things we have today. There is also the fact that it was assigned.
3.    My reading habits are quite normal i guess but however i do move my lips when i read and loose focus sometimes.

1.   The plot of this novel takes place in the future were people live in a type of controlling and somewhat creepy society. The main character known as Guy Montag finds himself question his way of living and gets himself in quite the delima. His life gets turned around whrn he starts reading books and meets a young girl named clarisse. This book may seem like its about censorship but after reading through it it becomes clear that its about self motivation.
2.    I think the theme of this novel is to question things and try to improve the world even if in some very small way. I think it's saying not to give up on something even though its hard.Another possible them would be not letting people control how you live.
3.    I think the authors tone of this novel is serious and worried. I think he was worried about the future due to technology. In the novel the people are always focused on the wall panels and complain about not having enough. He describes the future as being boring and gloomy.

4. Symbolism- symbolism is used by the fire. It symbolizes transforming, also destruction.
    Foreshadowing
    allusion
    theme- self motivation
Simile- Her face bright as snow in the moonlight.(pg 7)
Personification-One of them slid down into your stomach like a black cobra (pg 14)
    Hyperbole
    Indirect characterization
    Direct characterization

1. An example of direct characterigzation would be how the author describes Mildred right away. Another example would be how the author describes Faber. An example of indirect characterization would be how the reader learns about Clarisse through her words and avtions. Another example of indirect characterization would be Montag. You learn about him through his actions. I think he uses both direct and indirect because he wants to add depth to some of the major characters. The author may want you to know about some characters traits right away but my want the reader to learn about others through there thoughts or actions
2. I think the author uses diction more than syntax when forming sentences about certain things. When he describes characters or rooms he chooses specific words to form the sentence.
3. The protagonist is certainly dynamic. He is not a boring character that stays the same throughout the story. As time progresses Montag faces new challenges changing his point of view on his way of live. By the end of the story he is an entirly different person.
1. After reading the book I feel Ilike I got to know Montag instead of just learning avoit a character.  I got to learn how he thinks and what he felt in certain situations.

Fahrenheit 451 My Thoughts

My thoughts on Fahrenheit 451

Overall I thought the book was very interesting and a little exciting. I liked the way the author put so much detail in the story to make you feel like you are really there. I thought the book started off a little slow but started to pick up half way through the book. I think Montag was a good character because you often get to hear him think to himself and get to experience his struggle with all the obstacles he had to overcome. At a glance you you would think this book is about censorship but when you really read and understand it you will realize its about self motivation and the urge to never give up. I would recommend this book to someone who has a strong English understanding because it can be a tough read.
